Meet Maggie, proud owner of The Small Back Room and member of the Whickber Street Shopkeepers and Street Traders Association. Maggie grew up in the shop, toddling around the stacks, soaking up the music and the eccentric character of Soho. A veritable fount of musical knowledge, Maggie is on hand to help you find even the most obscure LPs. From longplayers and Buddy Holly to Shostakovich and jukebox staples, Maggie and The Small Back Room have you covered.
The Small Back Room was opened in 1923 by Maggie's great-grandmother and namesake, Margaret.
The shop started in a small back corner (hence the name!) of the bookshop next door, A.Z. Fell and Co.
As quirky and colourful as its Soho neighborhood, The Small Back Room has been a Whickber Street staple for over 100 years.
