Hello! I'm Maggie, proud owner of The Small Back Room and member of the Whickber Street Shopkeepers and Street Traders Association. I grew up in this shop, toddling around the stacks, soaking up the music and the eccentric character of Soho. My family has been here for. over 100 years, and I'm here to help you find even the most obscure LPs. From longplayers and Buddy Holly to Shostakovich and jukebox staples, The Small Back Room has you covered.
The Small Back Room was opened in 1923 by my great-grandmother and namesake, Margaret.
The shop started in a small back corner (hence the name!) of the bookshop next door, A.Z. Fell and Co.
As quirky and colourful as our Soho neighborhood, The Small Back Room has been a Whickber Street staple for over 100 years.
